Accidents that happen at state and county fair grounds are not uncommon. The rides and attractions at these parks, the same with rides at the big amusement parks should be maintained properly in order to prevent serious injury accidents. But sometimes things happen that to beyond a malfunction and maybe even get out of the control of the ride attendant. Accidents tend to happen when someone is doing something they shouldn’t be doing– even children.
A 4 year-old was seriously injured in an accident at the Louisiana State Fair when he became entrapped in the ride platform after the ride was allegedly re-activated by another child while the ride attendant was helping children exit the ride. Witnesses say the floor of the platform dropped suddenly and the kid slipped into a 6″ gap. Rescue workers managed to free the child before the situation got worse.
Our experienced Kansas City Child Injury Attorneys want your family to be safe on any vacation or weekend adventure and a trip to the amusement park or carnival is certainly worth getting excited about. But make sure your child knows the proper way to behave. It’s no secret that kids can be curious and may want to get involved more than they realize they can. This is why it is important they know their limits are for their own safety. Most parks allow patrons to ride their rides under condition that you are doing so at your own risk– but what happens when the park loses control of protecting its customers?
