If you’ve purchased a Dutailier drop side recently, you might wanna check the product number because last week, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a dangerous product recall on over 440 drop-side cribs because of entrapment and fall hazards to infants. The recall was announced on November 2, 2011 after it was discovered the slats of the crib are unstable and can become unhinged at the top and bottom rails causing a serious injury (suffocation and strangulation) risk to your child.

Consumers are able to contact the Dutailier Group for a free repair kit and are advised not to use the crib under any circumstances until the problem with your crib is fixed. For more information concerning the product recall, consumers can contact the Dutailier Group toll-free at (800) 363-9817 on Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST, and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
